This is a redesign project, focused on finding two or more major problems in the current website of CommonFloor and coming up with ideas to give a better user experience to the users.

User Research

After secondary research, four personal interviews were conducted with potential users. A survey form was filled by 29 potential users to get an understanding of the approach made by them to buy/sell/rent a property/house. The insights and data collected were used to understand the choices made by users and the experiences they had.

Problem Statement

Users looking for houses/properties to buy/rent find it difficult to trust the online real estate websites. According to users, at times the pictures aren't accurate or sufficient, property details aren't complete or not correct, and locality details aren't mentioned. Some of the properties are also assumed to be fake reasons being no pictures and/or not enough details.

Solution

After a careful study of the findings and stats from the user research, the factor that plays a major role to buy/rent a property/house/apartment is its location. In an online scenario, the websites should have accurate images and correct details for users to trust the website. The property status should also be frequently updated. Features like virtual reality(VR) experience, 3d images and 360-degree view were suggested by users to get a good understanding of the property.
